COASTAL BEND DAY OF GIVING

Children's Advocacy Center of the Coastal Bend

About this Organization

The Children's Advocacy Center of the Coastal Bend (CACCB) is a non-profit agency that provides services and programs to children who are alleged victims of sexual abuse, severe physical abuse, children who have witnessed violent crime, children who have been sex trafficked, and drug-endangered children. We serve children ages 0 to 17, and up until their 18th birthday. All of our services are absolutely FREE, at no cost to the affected families! Since opening our doors in 1994, we have provided free services to more than 40,000 child victims of abuse in Coastal Bend.

Without intervention and therapeutic recovery services, 59% of abused children will be arrested for a juvenile crime and 28% of abused children will be arrested for a crime committed as an adult. We work to help prevent vulnerable child victims from becoming troubled adults.

The CACCB provides many FREE services. With your support, you can help ensure that children will always have access to:
• Forensic Interviews
• Crisis Counseling
• Case Management
• Counseling
• Therapy Referrals
• SANE (Sexual Assault Nurse Exam) Referrals
• Community Agency Referrals
• Crime Victim's Compensation Assistance
• Court Accompaniment
• Teen Support Group
• Prevention and Education
• CACCB Rainbow Room

Did You Know?
1). The CACCB is the third-busiest CAC (children's advocacy center) in Texas in regards to the number of services provided. In 2021, we forensically interviewed 1,588 children and provided services to 814 families. We also provided 1,818 therapy sessions to children and their non-offending family members.
2). We service a huge area with a population of more than 600,000. We also work with 70 partner agencies and eight district attorney offices.
3). All of our services are absolutely free. We never charge insurance companies, the city, or the county any money.
4). We are an important tool in the investigation process to ensure justice is served for our most vulnerable victims, children, some of whom aren't even old enough to speak out for themselves.
5). We're often the first place where the child is able to freely discuss the full scope of the abuse that has occurred and where they can begin their healing.
6). We have not closed our doors for a single day due to the pandemic, and have taken numerous precautions to keep our partners, staff, and families safe.

The CACCB is a collaborative effort of public agencies charged with investigating, prosecuting, and treating child victims of various types of abuse and neglect. The CACCB serves 10 counties: Aransas, Bee, Brooks, Jim Wells, Kenedy, Kleberg, Live Oak, McMullen, Nueces, and San Patricio. Our many partners within this region include the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services, Child Protective Services (CPS), Adult Protective Services (APS), Local Law Enforcement (Police Departments/Sheriff Offices), State Law Enforcement, Federal Law Enforcement, Driscoll Children's Hospital, District Attorney's Offices, County Attorney's Offices and Counselors in the Coastal Bend area.
